You and your significant other have bought in another New Year together. Your relationship could also be new. Answer one question; How may of you include your significant other in your goals or New Years resolutions?
Before you get uptight let me tell you what I mean. You have career goals, weight loss goals and maybe even goals to travel. But what about date night or running a bubble bath for that special someone? How about date night plans that go past eating food together. I’m talking about an intentional date where you get sexy. I’m talking about fitted dress, red lipstick hair done and when your partner sees you, you both almost don’t make it out the door!
I want you to know that just like you work hard at getting that raise at work or losing those last pounds or even making sure you post all day. That is the same energy you have to use to keep the relationship you have growing.
You think people just fall out of love? In my opinion they don’t. Love is a choice. If you and your significant other are acting as if the relationship would just be great without intentional actions like constant communication, date nights, intimacy, sex on a regular basis then you might want to assess the relationship. Go back to when you first met, do you still treat him or her the same way or better?
I know it’s a lot of work to keep that relationship hot and spicy. I myself am not perfect. I have to stay cognizant everyday and be intentional about what I am creating. I’m responsible for what I need and want in my relationship. My husband can’t guess and I can’t get mad at him if I didn’t speak up.
Who is going to give some intentional loving this week? Stay tuned for dates that I will be postings on interesting spots around the city for date night with hubby and I.
